My name is Marion, I am a 3rd year PhD candidate working at the Dementia Informatics Lab. My interests lie at the intersection of artificial intelligence and brain sciences. For my PhD, I have focused on characterising structural and genetic differences in progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) subtypes. Using deep reinforcement learning, I have automated a PSP-specific biomarker in MRI scans, the midbrain to pons ratio (MPR. I have also investigated whether the MPR is helpful for prognosis or detecting PSP before symptoms appear. Currently, I am working on linking structure to genetics, using data from the Allen Human Brain Atlas and will look into which genes contribute to atrophy in our cohort.
